Loved that we get to dive into El & Octavia and learn more about them. Carmen Maria Machado is a damn good author and I cant wait to read what else she has written! ( ) Yet again, now that the full run is complete, I went back and re-read the first issue, and now my review will be the same for issues 2 through 6. I will say that, once I read the first issue of this series, I was intrigued enough to pick up Carmen Maria Machado's [b:In the Dream House: A Memoir|43317482|In the Dream House A Memoir|Carmen Maria Machado|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1547869259l/43317482._SX50_.jpg|65787792] and, after reading that (it's fucking brilliant), it just made me more excited to see where she took this Hill House series. And I have to say, I absolutely did not expect it to get as dark, nor explore the themes she ended up exploring. I'm not going to spoil a damn thing here, but I will say, of the three Hill House series I've fully read so far (Basketful of Heads, The Dollhouse Family, and this one), this one wins, hands down. Why? Because, while it still has crazy-ass supernatural horror, it's also tied to some real life horrors, and the character in this one live and breathe much more than in those other two series. And Dani's art? It was okay at the start, but honestly, once the series really kicked in, I came to believe no one else's art could have done this story justice. It harkens back to some of Frank Miller's best work, back when he was really trying. All in all, a very good series. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
