So interesting to read "the other side" and get a glimpse into what Warner was thinking during the events of Book #1 ( ) I love Warner so much and this book made me fall for him even more. He is just one broken. misunderstood and lost puppy, and I wish I could give him all the love he deserves. Probably one of the most handsome, most well-written, and realistic characters I've read about. His dad is a monster and a huge jackass, I am so relieved with his ending. I've read the first three books two times (I'm on my third reread), and this is the first time I read Destroy me, all I can say is that it left me teared up, with a broken heart, and wishing to be able to hug Warner. I don't remember his closer soldier from previous readings, but goddamn it, I don't want anything bad to happen to this sweet man, cause of all the support he gave to Warner. This one I have no qualms on. Destroy Me is the novella following Shatter Me, that I bought pretty much right from the second I found out it was a Warner story. Me? I love me some glorious psychotic neurosis inside pieces, insight, pieces, and this book did not let me down. This book is entirely different from Shatter Me. You won't find the poetry of Juliette's mind anywhere in here. You'll find darkness, sadness, cruelty, want, need, so much else. Also? You'll find every single inch of the clearer descriptions of places, feelings, memories, that I was looking for in the original book, which gives me such high hopes for Unravel Me. Shows me the author is gaining by leap and bounds each publication. I definitely can't wait to see where she takes Warner. I'm pretty sure no matter what it's on a collision course with everyone else, but I'm pretty sure he's being set up as a triangle love interest and the pivot point of several different plot twists for the Good and Bad Guys. I'm super hopeful for how the next book will go, and whatever the second digital novella of this year will be. got a whole glimpse of Warner's thoughts in this novella. I liked how it is shown that warner also has a good side in it, for example based on the scene with the dog. When Warner found Juliette's diary and now had a glimpse into her thoughts, I found it fascinating how he found himself in her written thoughts. But I hate Warner's dad so much. The way he treated his son and bossed him around, I was so sad for Warner. This certainly explained a lot about Warner and gave us a peek into his mind, but overall I'm not too impressed. Clearly Warner is being set up as a potential love interest for Juliette, but I don't see the appeal of a guy who basically kidnaps a girl to "save" her. Just because he suffered abuse at his father's hands does not excuse his actions. I'm really pissed off at so many YA books that try to justify violent and controlling male characters in this way. Furthermore, while Tahereh Mafi dials back her ridiculous writing style in this novella, her flair for the melodramatic still comes through Warner's POV. Seriously, you expect me to believe that Warner thinks like this: "And those four words hit me harder than the worst kind of physical pain. My chest is rising and falling, my breaths coming in too hard. I have to force myself to keep reading." "My intercom screeches so suddenly that I trip over my own chair and have to catch myself on the wall behind my desk. My hands won’t stop shaking; my forehead is beaded with sweat." "God, Juliette, I gasp. And fall to my knees." Funny, he sounds exactly like Juliette. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
