Nice book of father-child bonding, over missing the mom, and going out on a midnight trip to see the stars. ( ) Genre: Realistic Fiction. This is a realistic fiction book because although the events in this story did not actually happen, they seem very real. The people seem real as well and this relates to real life. There could easily be an event where a child wonders how many stars there are in the sky, as the boy in the story does. He and his dad go on a late night adventure while his mom is out of town to try and count all of the stars. By the end of the story they have not counted all of the stars but they had a fun father-son bonding experience together. Plot: This is a mediocre example of a plot with a good climax because the although the events in the story were meaningful, there was not much of a climax. The little boy and his dad are trying to count how many stars are in the sky but they were in the city so they couldn't see very well. They finally decide to go out to the country and they can see all the stars they want, but this time there are too many to count. Media: oil paints A young boy cannot fall asleep, so he tries to count all the stars in the night sky. Once the boy's father discovers what his son is up to, they drive into the big city and then out to the country to count the stars together. This picture book is appropriate for lower elementary students, especially first and second graders, to read themselves. It would also be a great book to read aloud to a class. Beautiful Van Gogh-esque paintings (courtesy of James E. Ransome) cover the pages. This book teaches children about stars' movements in the night sky, but it is also a sweet story of a father's loving relationship with his son. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
