I've been trying to add all the books I read as a child and it has definitely been a challenge to remember all of them. However, some books are embedded in my brain and I will never forget them. Butch Elects a Mayor is one of those books. Its the story of poor Butch who wants to help his father win an election for mayor. Unfortunately, things don't always go the way that Butch had hoped. The story shows us the value of perseverance while giving us a glimpse of small town politics. The illustrations are fantastic also. This one is on my shelf at home as a keep that I hope to read to grand kids one day. ( )
