![]() No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. I was not expecting it to be a type of retelling. Had no idea it was part of a series, but you didn't need to read the other books in the series. Overall, I liked it. It was fun and i eager await the next. ( ![]() Tale As Old As Time Publishing This Provincial Life (name of a TV show) Yellow sundress coming down a staircase Feeling like you are talking to a teacup and candelabra Beau....Beast Isabella....Belle A Library TOTALLY in love with this book. I was transported back to the world of Beauty and the Beast in a truly modern way. Publishing houses and misunderstood protagonists. No Stockholm Syndrome ;) OH SO GOOD! I enjoyed the initial Meant to Be book and once I saw Jasmine Guillory writing the second of the series, I knew this would be a must read for me. The MC is a 25yo black female who has been dreaming of working in the book business for as long as she could remember. However, the publishing company she works for,is becoming worse for wear and she is struggling with paying her bills with no potential growth in her future. That is until she winds offering to babysit a celebrity who was supposed to write his memoir two years ago. Things can heat up quick when you are in close proximity to each other, especially when you need to be vulnerable to write. Oh dear, I listened to the audiobook, quite recently, but I don't remember it. I promise to revisit my score once I've borrowed it again, as I appreciate that most people really did seem to enjoy it. I did not expect to enjoy this as much as I did! Although I am a teacher with no aspirations to enter the publishing/writing business, this was an interesting read, and kept me hooked from start to finish. Also appreciated that while it is a spin on Beauty and the Beast, there is a lot more consent and freedom involved. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

Isabelle is completely lost. When she first began her career in publishing right out of college, she did not expect to be twenty-five, living at home, still an editorial assistant, and the only Black employee at her publishing house. Overworked and underpaid, constantly torn between speaking up or stifling herself, Izzy thinks there must be more to this publishing life. So when she overhears her boss complaining about a beastly high-profile author who has failed to deliver his long-awaited manuscript, Isabelle sees an opportunity to finally get the promotion she deserves. All she has to do is go to the author's Santa Barbara mansion and give him a quick pep talk or three. How hard could it be? But Izzy quickly finds out she is in over her head. Beau Towers is not some celebrity lightweight writing a tell-all memoir. He is jaded and withdrawn and--it turns out--just as lost as Izzy. But despite his standoffishness, Izzy needs Beau to deliver, and with her encouragement, his story begins to spill onto the page. They soon discover they have more in common than either of them expected, and as their deadline nears, Izzy and Beau begin to realize there may be something there that wasn't there before.
