This story is too strange for my taste. I'm beginning to realize I tend to enjoy Janet Ahlberg's illustrations more than Allan Ahlberg's stories. ( )

Great illustrations, especially the one of the wolf mending his bike. The story's not so strong, being a quiet adventure through the off stage scenes of other fairy tales, but very enjoyable both for adults and children. ( )

Jeremiah is looking for his grandmother's stolen tarts. On his adventure he discovers several interesting characters that are similar to stories he has heard before. There are seven dwarfs, three bears, and sleeping beauties. However, none of these characters are doing what the are supposed to be doing. Can Jeremiah discover who stole the tarts?

A little boy sets out to find the thief of his grandmother's strawberry tarts and meets a number of unusual characters on his search.
