Apunta't a LibraryThing per saber si aquest llibre et pot agradar. No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. I am still going over this in my head. So many questions, so many twists and turns. I don't want to give it away, but wow! Didn't see THAT coming at all! ( ) The Secrets We Share by Edwin Hill is a must read for those who love suspense and thrillers. The two timelines, past and present, merge perfectly throughout the book and come to a great conclusion at the end. There is just enough of the past to keep the present suspenseful and to help add some development to the characters. There are quite a lot of characters, especially if you include their pseudonyms, but I feel that Hill was able to write in a way that the reader could keep them straight, while still keeping the reveals later on very powerful. While I do realize it’s a work of fiction, and anything goes, I did have a bit of trouble with one of the relationships. I love that GLBTQA was represented (we need more of that!), but the way these two women’s lives were intertwined, really made it hard for me to believe they would be together. But, I guess, the heart wants what the heart wants… I really enjoy how Hill brings in characters from other books and series, and the Easter eggs a reader can find if they read numerous of his books. I’m looking forward to reading more by Hill, and seeing how the various characters from the books interact in upcoming stories. A great crafted thriller that mixes childhood family tragedy, murder, infidelity, embezzlement, and so many secrets that creates the ultimate whodunnit! Two sisters, now adults, must once again face the unexpected horror of the murder of their father when they were teens. A neighbor had taken the blame for his death and then committed suicide, however they always thought it was likely their mom who killed their dad. Now both parents are dead and the secrets they kept are now becoming deadly to the people they love. I enjoyed this book as it was a solid twisted thriller. Thank you Kensington and NetGalley for the gifted copy in exchange for my honest opinion. I've read and enjoyed all of Edwin Hill 's novels. This one was different...it's a stand alone but does bring in characters from his Hester Thursby series. This one was filled with so many fantastic twists and turns that my head was practically spinning and I couldn't put the book down. Loved it and can't wait for more from this author. Natalie and Glenn are sisters living with a haunted past. As little girls, their father was murdered and found in the woods by their house. While there was some suspicion that their mother (Ruth) was the killer, the evidence pointed to the lady living next door, who reportedly was having an affair with their dad. Natalie is a no-nonsense cop who drinks too much while Glenn bathes in the spotlight, showcasing her cooking blog and anticipated new book release. On a dare, Mavis (Glenn's daughter) sneaks into an abandoned building only to discover a dead body. When the wallet of Bennet Jones, a man Natalie dated, is found near the body, everyone suspects the body is Jones. Natalie is much to close to the case given her relationship with Jones, and the fact that Mavis is her niece! Glenn's husband, Jake, ends up dead and Glenn is found standing over his body holding a gun. While she pleads innocent, the evidence is more than her career can bear and both her blog and book deal are terminated. The police investigations get even more challenging when another person is attacked and the initial murder hasn't been solved. This was a super fun read with a zillion twists and I was stumped to the very end. Lots of suspense and a good pace. Thank you to Kensington for giving me an advanced copy of the book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to the author's next one. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
