"The Sweetest Gift" - a story of two people showing their love for one another by giving up something they wanted, to give something out of love to another. This take you back to 1899, to Seattle, Washington where Adelaide Snyder is about to marry a man she knows only through her best friend's letters. She is 28 years old, has a master's degree, loves books and loves the piano. She is also an old maid, so when the opportunity comes to marry Graham MacLachlan and take care of his little girl (his wife died in childbirth) she takes the challenge and moves to a new state, new home, new husband and new life. You will cheer Adlelaide on as she takes on the task of raising a little one, keeping house and trying to get Graham's family to like her. But you will fall in love with both of them as they learn to love each other and give of each other.
"A Christmas Angel" - You will travel with Jennifer Whitmore and leave her life as a nurse in Chicago, head to Idaho, and take on trying to help her stepsister's widower Mick, and his young daughter Annie, who needs help trying to walk again after an accident. It won't be easy, but Christmas is a season of love and sometimes of miracles, and this family may find both.
Both stories were short stories but I felt very satisfied after reading each one. ( )
