This is indeed both written and illustrated by Howard Pyle, though many publishers have used Pyle's text with other artists illustrating the story. Louis Rhead also wrote and illustrated the story in 1912, and portrays Robin more comically than Pyle does. Though both are derived from the same root sources, they are very different.
