Apunta't a LibraryThing per saber si aquest llibre et pot agradar. No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. Good beginning and ending. Main part is boring, very predictable. Brutal romantasy. Spoiler free** I was hooked by the first chapter. I found myself invested in the world building and character building that took place in the first part of the book. Some say it starts off slow but I think the pacing makes for an amazing book. I waited this long because I thought the hype was just influencers influencing but I’m so happy I read this book and am now a fan of this author and the story telling ability that comes along with her! I need to go pre-order the next book ! Snappy pacing, satisfying sex and killing the bad guys. An unlikely heroine, descriptive settings and lots of action propel this fun fantasy time. daughter of a cold, calculating military leader mom pairs with not one, but two dragons in her training to be a rider. Falling for the hot wing leader, she can’t know who to trust. Wow! This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. The twists and turns just kept coming, and I was absolutely hooked! Now, I'm not usually one for fantasy books, especially ones with all those made-up names. I find it hard to keep track of who's who when the names are too unfamiliar. "Violet" was fine, but names like "Sgael," "Tairn," and "Rhiannon" threw me off a bit. My dyslexia always made me take a min to distinguish Xaden and Dain from each other. (Why can't fantasy books keep to names like "Jane," "Rob," "Ian," or "Emily.") Anyway, despite my dislike for the names, I couldn't help but love the story and its pace. Welcome to the brutal and elite world of Basgiath War College, where everyone has an agenda, and every night could be your last . . . Twenty-year-old Violet Sorrengail was supposed to enter the Scribe Quadrant, living a quiet life among books and history. Now, the commanding general - also known as her tough-as-talons mother - has ordered Violet to join the hundreds of candidates striving to become the elite of Navarre: dragon riders. But when you're smaller than everyone else and your body is brittle, death is only a heartbeat away . . . because dragons don't bond to 'fragile' humans. They incinerate them. With fewer dragons willing to bond than cadets, most would kill Violet to better their own chances of success. The rest would kill her just for being her mother's daughter - like Xaden Riorson, the most powerful and ruthless wingleader in the Riders Quadrant. She'll need every edge her wits can give her just to see the next sunrise. Yet, with every day that passes, the war outside grows more deadly, the kingdom's protective wards are failing, and the death toll continues to rise. Even worse, Violet begins to suspect leadership is hiding a terrible secret. Alliances will be forged. Lives will be lost. Traitors will become allies . . . or even lovers. But sleep with one eye open because once you enter, there are only two ways out: graduate or die. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
