I stopped reading this series about 8 years ago because I got bored with it. I decided to give it another try as I love the world it is set in. I ended up with mixed feelings for this book, some of it just droned on or felt not right/weird, while some was great. I'll keep reading the series, but slowly rather than racing through it like I did the first few books. (

Typicall Rachel. .... she always gets into trouble, trouble finds her and she is trying the hardest to do the right thing. Unfortunately for her, she is learning her lessons always the hard way. Without giving spoilers, at least one person dies, she attends a wedding, and gets a new landlord in the end..... (

Wraps up some threads, answers some questions, deepens relationships, etc. A good addition to the series, even though Harrison's style still causes drags in some places. (

Under the mistaken impression that this was the first book in the series, I picked this up in the airport, and started it on the plane. I kind of wish I hadn't, since the world and the characters were very engaging, but this book clearly draws on a lot of history from the first four books, and apparently resolves a number of open questions left by those books. I really want to go back and read the first four; I'm hoping that knowing what happened here won't reduce my enjoyment of the earlier ones. (
