"Theseus and the Minotaur," a Greek mythological tale of a young prince's journey to free his people from the costly annual price of human sacrifices, showcases the benefits of a honorable life and the plights of hasty actions. Throughout the tale, Theseus remains virtuous to a fault, which ultimately causes the deaths of the fabled and monstrous Minotaur, and his father, King Aegus. Characteristic of the many traditional tragedies of antiquity, "Theseus and the Minotaur" falls in line with other cursed heros, such as Achilles and Odysseus. ( )
