To the world of the 1920's, he was a columnist of power, and drew on those areas of American Life that unsettled many in the mainstream of society. While as a man he had his flaws, his coverage of the Scopes "Monkey Trial" and his devastating portrait of all the activities at the fringes of a revival tent meeting, are still resonating today. I wonder if moldering away in his papers, is a vivid description of a lynching....not published, of course,as the times were, as they were, but unavoidable to such a student of "The American Scene." Here we have a good selection of his work. ( ) Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
