Apunta't a LibraryThing per saber si aquest llibre et pot agradar. No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. Setting is Sydney 1965. Police corruption is accepted as commonplace, the Kings Cross area is the centre of prostitution, drugs and about to be redeveloped. A series of brutal murders, using the MO of a perpetrator who is undoubtedly dead, is pursued by two policemen, cynical bagman Shearer and naive John Gordon. The style is clear, the plot fairly rattles along, the times well captured, a couple of editorial slips. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

"Big bad blood" is Warner's second attempt at a crime novel, after "City of Light", and here Warner's scope is much broader, taking in 1960s Kings Cross (Sydney), and involving a serial killer offing prostitutes in particularly grisly ways. This was to a backdrop of police corruption and organised crime.
After "City of Light", I found this to be disappointing; it seemed to be formulaic in places and in a very different style to "City of Blood". Perhaps if you enjoyed "City of Light", you could try "Big bad blood"; you may enjoy it more than me. ( )
