The fear the Jew experienced at the hands of the Nazi's is overwhelming. This book is truly amazing. It's about a girl named Nicole and her life when she thought she went back in time to the Holocaust. When she went back in time Nicole and her family happen to be Jews during the time of WWII. They have to deal with many hardships such as being taken away from eachother, going into hiding, starvation, sickness, and the constant fear of being caught. You get a true feeling of how the Jews felt in the Holocaust. The plot isn't only about Nicole's family and her; it's also about Nicole and how she has to deal with the many teen things that we have to deal with today - friends and boys. The plot is very suspenseful, and it keeps you reading. I would recommend it to any teen and older to read. I thought this book was amazing. It was well written and depicted the Holocaust in a way that made it understandable how bad it was, but it wasn't as graphic as some books are. I thought the premise, that she got knocked back in time when she hit her head was great and I loved her confusion at first. I thought It was also interesting that she accepted the fact that she was in the past relatively quickly. I guess because she saw no other way to deal with things. i thought the notes that she left were inspiring and the best part of the whole book, is when she finds out that she really did exist.
