No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. So fun, like Gossip Girl set in 1899. ( ![]() This book wasn't what I expected but in the end I'm very happy that I read it. This book was a tale about love, and life itself. It showed how life in 1899 wasn't glamorous at all. Life was full of lies and betrayal and gruel plots. Life was full of jealousy. It shows that girls had to sacrifice themselves for their families. Money was everything. It did not matter who you loved or what you dream about. Everything is just pure business. This book was very interesting to read and also very fast to read. I liked how the chapters weren't that long so you could read the book chapter by chapter without getting bored somewhere in the middle. I liked it. And I'm going to read the next book by Anna Godbersen. DNF I am going to try to be better about not finishing books when they're blatantly not my thing. I have so little time and energy for reading as it is, and it seems silly to waste it on books that aren't a good match for me. It's obvious that The Luxe sets out to be Gossip Girl in amazing frocks. Unfortunately, the drastic historical inaccuracy was just too much for me to bear. Wonderful young adult historical fiction!
A delicious new twist along the Gossip Girl vein, readers will clamor for this sharp, smart drama of friends, lovers, lies and betrayal. The dialogue has its clunky moments, and the plot twist that drives the tale is telegraphed from the very start, but readers caught up in the fancy dress intrigue are unlikely to mind much: Pertany a aquestes sèriesLuxe Novels (1)
