S'està carregant… The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2007de Dave Eggers (Editor)
![]() Cap No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. I would've liked more nonfiction and less Miranda July. The Stephen Elliott story was good, though. ( ![]() "The Best American Front Section" was a highlight again: funny and varied stuff. Beyond those, the Edge Foundation's "What Is Your Dangerous Idea?" is great, and Conan O'Brien's high school commencement speech was also quite amusing. I'm not going to lie. The only reason I bought this book was because the intro was by Sufjan Steven ... you know, of "Come On, Feel the Illinois" fame. Anyway, it was a great read, and I was pleasantly surprised to find the story/graphic novel by Alison Bechtel, a Lock Haven native, and another story by Conan O'Brien. A lot of the authors were new to me, but I'd definitely read more of their works. I'm not going to lie. Inside are excerpts, snippets and essays of all kinds, long and short. I remember loving the section on Best Six-Word Memoirs, which is more ingenious and less gimmicky than you'd think, and I'll never forget this is where I first heard about Alison Bechdel's brilliant masterpiece, Fun Home. I recommend it. Heck, I'll even recommend the rest of the series, sight unseen. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
