With his unconventional knowledge, he solves mysteries for the neighborhood kids through his own detective agency. But his dad also happens to be the chief of the Idaville police department, and every night around the dinner table, Encyclopedia helps him solve some of the most baffling crimes. With ten confounding mysteries in each book, not only does Encyclopedia have a chance to solve them, but readers are given all the clues as well and can chime in with their own solutions. Genre: This is a good example of Realistic Fiction because any young boy could set up his own detective agency and use his memory and good sense to help others in his hometown to stay out of trouble. Age Appropriateness: intermediate Characterization: Bugs Meany is a good example of a protagonist because he is the direct foil of Encyclopedia. He is not very smart. He is also mean and tries to make life harder for others around him. Setting: This book is set in the 1960's in a small town called Idaville. Media: watercolor Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
The solutions to ten mysteries solved by Leroy "Encyclopedia" Brown are given in a separate section challenging the reader to match wits with the ten-year-old mastermind of Idaville's war on crime. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
