Ugh, I wanted to like this, and in fairness it did get me through several rough hours on a flight, but it was pretty bad. I picked it up to finish it, read a ridiculous Gothmara scene and just thought "you know, I think I'll pass." Like can't a lady Klingon bio-engineer enact her evil plans without relying on seduction? So boring. None of the characters voices seemed quite right (even Martok, sadly). The best book in the DS9 Relaunch series I have read yet. Worf goes with Martock back to the Klingon empire, now as the Federation ambassador. Yet, not everyone on Qo'nos is happy with the way the Klingons seeked the assistance of Humans and even Romulans against the dominion. In a political/military/civil war/conspiracy a young and coming politician/military "hero" creates a false flag attack and try to show that Worf and the Federation are the masters behind the puppet Martock. There's even some comic relief from a crying Ferengi how didn't want to be a garbage baron, trying to make a living on the Klingon homeworld. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

Arthurian in its themes and scope, this epic two-part saga is the story of one Klingon's battle to preserve his empire and his dream. The price of victory has been high. In the aftermath of the Dominion War, The Klingon General Martok, newly acclaimed Chancellor of the Klingon Empire, returns to the homeworld together with his adopted kinsman, Worf. They find a society splintered into factions and seething with unrest. Many Klingon warriors flock to Martok's banner, but his enemies are strong - chief amongst them his own bastard son... Rebellion, civil war and betrayal rock the Empire in this stirring tale of families riven by bitter conflict and a society poised precariously between redemption and dishonour.
