I wrote the preface. This work examines everyday life, so that writers of period fiction and non-fiction will be able to give period reality to their works. For example, the work examines everyday commerce and manufacturing, so a realistic protrayal of homelife can be used in writing a mystery story from the period, by people who live in a modern age, yet want to avoid anachronisms. A good work, and well done. a A must-have book for writers and reenactors. ( )
