This is an easy informational book that pairs pictures of extreme weather like thunder and lightning, snow, hurricanes, and tornados with short descriptions of such weather. Storms! By The Editors of Time for Kids with Leslie Dickstein I liked Storms! by Time for Kids with Leslie Dickstein for three reasons. First, I liked the real graphics displayed within the book. Because the book is non-fiction, the photos are exact depictions of the various types of storms. This is neat because children can visualize what storms look like, and their qualities—dark skies, windy, etc. Second, I liked the ‘That is Amazing’ text box presented on various pages of the book. Specifically, the ‘That is Amazing’ text box contains a talking sun that throws out fun facts, like “There are about sixteen million thunderstorms in the world every year.” Personally, I think this is cool because children will remember these details. Lastly, I liked how the book was interactive. For example, the book exclaims, “Look up!” Thus, readers immediately look up at the picture. This technique keeps readers engaged in the text. Overall, the “big idea” of Storms! is to demonstrate to children what storms are and why they happen. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
