This books is about a little girl who is scared about going to camp because she is afraid that she will not make any friends. She takes along her lucky penny to help bring her luck to get enough nerve to make new friends.
Personal Reflection
I enjoyed this book because it teaches a child confidence in themselves and that makes the difference. I really liked the ending because she did not need her lucky penny after all not knowing that it had fell out of her pocket.
Extension
1. Have the children give examples of times they were nervous of making new friends.
2. Have the children bring in their good luck charms.
3. Role play on some ways to break the ice to make new friends. ( )
