The final book in the trilogy was just as good as the first two. In Chasing Yesterday #3, Truth, JD is back at the institute under the control of Dr. Sykes, until Daniel returns, and JD begins to question all of what she thinks she knows to be true. This was a very intriguing trilogy. This series would be excellent for reluctant readers. I highly recommend it for those looking for a quick yet enjoyable read. ( )

Library Summary: "Found: One girl, age thirteen. Unconscious. Unharmed. Unclaimed. Unidentified. Lost: Everything. J.D. can't run from her past any longer. She knows the truth now: that she's dangerous, a weapon. If she can't learn to control her powers, there's no telling what or who she'll destroy next. To finally unlock the secrets in her mind, she will have to return to the Institute that created her. But returning to the Institute won't be easy. Almost nobody goes in and no one ever gets out."

I loved this book! It has everything i love in one book! Action, Mystery, etc. I love all the plot twists and questions in this book! I also love the character of JD. I love how she is able to think for herself and is brave enough to do anything to get answers to her questions. You need a strong female protagonist to carry out a story like this or the whole thing just falls apart. I also like how JD doesn't really need anyone to help her with anything. Not even her friend Daniel.

I also love the plot. How she goes in to find answers but ends up being hypnotized instead! How she doesn't even realize that she's being hypnotized until Daniel comes to rescue her! That is a brilliant twist in the plot!

I like how Ansel Sykes pretends to be her friend and understands what she's going through when actually he is using her and the other girls as weapons! It reveals something about his character. It reveals that he is even more evil than JD and us readers thought! I love that JD reveals that he's a liar at the end!

Speaking of endings, I like the plot twist in the ending of this book! How the woman who pretended to be her mom in the first book actually is her mom! What an amazing twist! I recommend this to everyone who likes Robin Wasserman's work! ( )

I really enjoyed the series, but to be honest I felt this was the weakest volume, possibly because brainwashed JD doesn't make for the type of exciting reading as we saw in the previous books! But I felt like the ending suited the series and was sad when it was over anyhow. ( )

JD's finally up against Ansel Sykes... and she's being hypnotised by him. (AGAIN!!! You'd think she'd learn!) She went to get some answers to her past, and got lies instead. She meets some girls there (Ilana, Mara, Katherine, Leslie, and 7 other girls) and finds out that they all have MSWTM (Move Stuff Wtih Their Minds) powers. JD also finds out that her dead "mother" is alive, and apparently hates JD's guts. Daniel later finds and rescues JD from her mind control and reveals that she's been walking past the "red door". She then remembers how Sykes used a device to mind control all the girls by playing hypnotising music INSIDE her head (because of a hearing "aid" object thing). After finding out some more about herself and the other girls (namely, their mothers were involved in an "experiment") she "convinces" (she uses the same machine that Sykes used on the girls) the other girls to get away from Ansel Sykes. They are taken to government custody to experiment on the girls' MSWTM powers. The book ends when Dr. Mersenne actually IS her mom, and offers to JD to "take them away, where no one will know us". JD says yes, and hopefully had a happy life with her mom.

This book is a really great finale for the ending of the series. I thought it was a nice twist that Dr. Mersenne, the woman who faked being a mom actually IS her mom. (She should just make up her mind though.) I also like how Wasserman showed JD's reluctance at using the mind control machine and how she didn't want the building to fall on top of anyone, not even on Control Freak (Ansel Sykes). JD was also really confused on how and why couldn't she remember things, like what did we learn in class, other than "valuable and interesting things". The "army" of MSWTM powered girls is pretty on the spot too, because, well, how can you fight something that's already slamming you through a wall? I also like the way Daniel pulled of Hero Moment # I lost count by saving all the girls. All in all, this is a great book, and if you like the "Heroine-who-forgot-everything-story-and-is-trying-to-remember-it-all-but-the-story-really-really-dark-and-nothing-is-ever-easy-for-the-heroine-but-she-still-has-a-good-ending-story". Those -'s went longer than I thought... ( )
