Oddly enough, I've never been a huge fan of PKD's short stories, but this one was all kinds of cool. The paranoia spirals completely out of control in no time. :)

What is it though? Oh, just a complete psychological collapse and layers upon layers of retreating from reality. Or is it? I mean, there WAS a failing rebellion in the outer planets that had gone into retreat. His wife was involved. He had killed her. Hadn't he? So was the event the cause or was it reversed? Could it be an endless spiral and mix of reality and the mind?
