High school junior Tracy Lloyd is unsure about the new guy in school. Brad Johnson is attractive, smart, and polite, but Tracy can't help but feel he watches her too closely. I don’t know what it is about Lois Duncan books that I enjoy so much. They’re not great works of fiction, but they are easy to read with just enough mystery and intrigue to keep you interested. This one has a few twists and turns that aren’t all that difficult to figure out beforehand. There is also the usual abrupt ending but I thought it worked well with this story. ( )

Huh. I didn't realize this was a re-release of a book from the 80s. So when I started reading it I was like "why aren't they texting? why does a character say he's going to 'phone' someone? why do they mention going to the 'pictures'?" I was starting to wonder if it was set in the 50s or something? And then the writing just wasn't that good--Twisted Window, you, sir, are no Down A Dark Hall. I just don't have time for this. Abandoned.

Received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I had some uninterrupted time today and decided to catch up on my ARCs because woah am I behind. I think I should have just skipped this one. I remember reading Christoper Pike and RL Stine and the like way back when and actually being slightly creeped out but definitely entertained and like I wanted to read more. This book was pretty predictable, boring and just downright odd from the beginning. I am not sure who I would recommend it for. Pretty much no one. Skip this one if you need some nostalgia and pick up something else. Anything else really. ( )

Lois Duncan wrote good suspense for young adults. It is sad that she quit writing them. ( )
