In Death 03 In Death 03 When Eve Dallas is called into a murder scene, she is surprised to learn that her best friend, Mavis, is a suspect in the crime. When Eve has to arrest Mavis for the murder, she vows to save her friend and find the killer no matter what. But it's not so easy for Eve to concentrate on the case when she has to plan her own wedding, tend to her best friend, and deal with the sudden memories of her buried past. Eve is determined to find the true killer and prove Mavis' innocence, and so she goes into overdrive doing just that. Eve turns up a connection to a new illegal drug, which benefits the user with restored youthfulness, but is also highly addictive and fatal. This is the third book of the long running series and I 19ve really enjoyed them all. It 19s interesting to see how the author envisions future New York and I love the mix of mystery and low level science fiction. I definitely plan to continue the series and hope to read at least a few more this year. This is the next in the Eve Dallas series. Eve is a police lieutenant in NYC in the year 2058. Her best friend is accused of the brutal slaying of a super model. This series is pretty light weight but interesting. The technology of crime solving and every day life is advanced but the people are pretty much the same. Okay. So. I'm trying to get into this the way that so many others seem to have gotten into it, but it just has a certain vibe to it. Not a bad vibe, but an AVERAGE vibe. The mysteries aren't anything special. We get similar police procedurals on tv anywhere you look. The romance isn't special. It's wish-fulfillment on a grand scale: a perfect bad rich boy who is absolutely one dimensional in his love for the emotionally damaged police heroine. We aren't really supposed to ask why. You know. Chemistry, et al. So what is this book really about? Wedding preparations and saving a friend from a murder rap. And more wedding preparations than saving her friend from a murder rap. And hot sex. And more wedding preparations. Hmmm okay. The SF in this is on par with a plopping in a random Star Wars droid and making the MC make a snide comment the way Harrison Ford was likely to do. Other than that, I can't really say this IS SF at all. I'm not feeling it. I mean, sure, if all I wanted was a lightly decorated HEA among a few dead bodies and easy mysteries, then this is probably right up my alley. But really, it feels like it could be a straight-on cookie cutter from here on out. Please, someone, tell me I'm wrong and I may continue on. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
