Lili is extremely quite and shy. She spends most of her time with the class guinea pig, Lois. There is a girl, Rita B. who takes care of Lois's needs and Lili would like to do the same. One day, the teacher tells them to choose partners and a bossy girl named Cassidy chooses Lili. She takes credit for all of the work that Lili does and even takes her cake at lunch time, knowing that Lili will not do anything about it. When the teacher is out with laryngitis, and the substitute is not in the room, Cassidy decides to torment the guinea pig. Lili is not having it and she yells so loudly at Cassius that she shocks the whole classroom. She and Rtia B. protect Lois and become friends and partners in the classroom.

Lili is really shy. She doesn't have any friends at school. When a girl tells her they are going to be partners, she picks all the fun things to do and eat, and leaves Lili with the the leftovers. When the other girl starts misbehaving, Lili has had enough, and stands up for herself. In the end, Lili does make a friend. She has learned self-confidence and self-esteem. She has learned to recognize her her own values and express her emotions in a socially acceptable way.

Lili is the quietest girl in class but she learns to speak up when it means keeping a friend from getting hurt. Great for kids 3-5 years old. ( )

Lili is so shy that when she talks no one can hear her. At recess, she sits alone in the classroom with the class pet. One day, when told to work with partners a girl, Cassidy, decided she wanted to work with Lili. When working together, Cassidy bossed Lili around and took advantage of her. When Cassidy was not listening to her, Lili has had enough. She finally has the courage to speak up and finds her voice. This is a wonderful story for those who are shy to read. The illustrations are colorful and follow along with the text perfectly. Overall, this is a cute story showing kids who are shy to find their voice and not to be afraid to speak up when they need to.
