With its steady flow of rhyming verses, colorful pictures, and relatable situations, this books is perfect to read aloud to your toddlers and preschoolers. In this picture book, child Llama is very upset that his mom interrupts his lazy Saturday with a boring trip to the Shop-a-Rama. To his surprise, his mom dislikes the trip as much as he does but handles it better. ( ![]() A great book about tantrums and childhood feelings. Love all the rhymes! Does a nice job of capturing all the really good reasons why any little kid would be annoyed with the progress of the day. Also pretty good for helping parents regroup when a frustrated kid ultimately goes into meltdown mode. I liked this installment in the series. Anna Dewdney "Llama llama Mad at Momma" is a book where the main character goes on a shopping trip with their mom, and gets angry when they don't get their treat. This story is one of teaching little ones how important it is to recognize emotions, and how those emotions can influence peoples actions. This book is also very good at subtly introducing the concepts of commas, rhyming, and onomatopoeia, as well at normalizing the routine of shopping. I would read this to kindergartners, and have them then talk to each other about what emotions they feel in doing certain activities, and how that emotion affects them.
