Noble Britton ha sufrido enormemente a manos de su primera esposa –que fue asesinada, según dicen los rumores por el mismo Noble, cuando la encontró en brazos de su amante– y se niega a caer en la misma trampa nuevamente. Sin hacer caso de los chismes, y prefiriendo juzgar a las personas por ella misma, en cuanto pone sus ojos en Noble se da cuenta de que hay algo más tras la fría y seductora apariencia del que todos conocen como “Conde Negro”.
Ahora, Gillian ha puesto patas arriba la meticulosa y ordenada vida de Noble, y harán falta un golpe en la cabeza, un ojo morado y una nariz rota para que éste se dé cuenta de que esa mujer ha conseguido curar las heridas de su alma y conducirle hacia el verdadero y auténtico amor.

Small confession. I LOVE THIS BOOK! I have read this book about 10 times...AND I bought the audio book which I have listened to 3 times. Have I mentioned how much I love Katie MacAlister books? (see my post Author Heaven )

Yes, I completely relate with the klutzy leading lady, Gillian, who has an unfortunate habit of speaking whatever is on her mind.

Yes, I think Noble Britton/Lord Weston is all broody alpha with a gooey center. Very sexy.

There is also the quirky cousin, Charlotte, looking to make a good marriage but having an interesting grasp of the English language with whom I could completely see myself plotting many an adventure.

Oh, to be described as "unconventional" or an "original". I don't know how Katie does it but I may need to buy this in paperback, too.
