Much to Arthur's surprise, Mr. Ratburn turns out to be normal AND fun! Just when Arthur starts to think things aren't so bad, the kids at school start making fun of him but Mr. Ratburn saves the day. This would be a great read for any "nerdy" kids. It certainly helped me out when I was accused of being a teacher's pet. Arthur's teacher's roof caves in during the winter and has no where else to go so his parents let Mr. Ratburn stay with them for a few days. Arthur got an A on the last test he took and other students in the class start to call him the teacher's pet. Mr. Ratburn knows this and decides to move out of Arthur's house and in turn starts rotating around to all of the students' homes until his house is fixed. This is a good fantasy because it is animals acting out human like situations and makes students ask questions about favoritism and equal treatment within the classroom.
