Comprising a collection of splanchnic severing tales from the world of Warhammer 40,000, "Damnation Crusade" by Dan Abnett, Ian Edginton, and Lui Antonio, among others, serves up a solar-plexus punching ride. Mr. Abnett's writing is clear and concise and much of the artistry is superb. However, more than one talent was used in the making of the graphic novel, which incidentally is a collection of shorter issues. I found this oscillation of artwork throughout the comic detrimental to its enjoyability. For example, there were pages just before the final battle of Carrion Gulf where characters appeared shrunken, dwarf-like and out of alignment with their surroundings, not to the benefit of the story. And yes I know this being a BOOM! Studios comic that characterization was not at the forefront of their minds but a little more depth and insight would have gone a long way into developing a durable series. That being said, the carnage is rip-roaring and if that's what you are looking for, as I do at times, then "Damnation Crusade" is for you. ( ) Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
