Hannah and Vinh are fantastic together. The flashbacks to their friendship provide strong insights into their abiding love and affection for one another, which was just waiting to blossom into something more. It is impossible to not root for their HEA. One interesting note is Brockmann's choice regarding Angelina's characterization. Given the descriptions of her in some of the previous books, one would expect her to be borderline angelic, and yet she is revealed to be a manipulative user who deliberately undermined Vinh and Hannah's connection - This was somewhat of a shock.
The secondary romance between Izzy and Eden is less appealing primarily due to the fact that both are quite immature. Eden is just too young and damaged to truly be in an adult relationship at this point. and Izzy also has some growing up to do. That said, there is tremendous potential here, which will hopefully come to fruition in the future.
Finally, it would seem that Sophia is finally coming to realize that her desire for a relationship with Decker is doomed to failure. Perhaps she will now open her eyes and see that there is someone who loves her sitting right under her nose. One can only hope.
The suspense plot is one of the best in the series and it is especially gratifying that the women play an important role in the action. They are all strong and resourceful, and it shows.
All in all, an entertaining read and I look forward to the next book to see how Nash's actions will play out. ( )
This is one of my favorites from the series. I love Izzy and always have. He's just so different from your standard romance hero. I'm not sure I like Eden for Izzy although I don't see how it could go any other way. Everyone else has written some really good reviews so I won't. ( )
I love Suzanne Brockmann books, a lot of action and some romance....perfect. Her characters are realistic...none are perfect in character or looks which make it so much better than a 'romance' novel. A lot of action and witty dialogue...which I love. ( )
Vinh and Hannah. There's always this theme of past and present colliding in Brockmann's SEAL books. Missed opportunities that come back around. Star-crossed love untangled. ( )
