Katie is sure that she will never marry & instead will become a politician. But a trip back to her hometown changes her mind. ( ) While this was not my favorite book by Robin Lee Hatcher, it was still an enjoyable read and held my interest. The subject matter regarding the Women's Suffrage movement was very well researched and presented in a thought provoking way. Catching Katie is full of romance, turmoil, suspense, and good values. The main characters, Katie and Ben, were childhood friends and they rediscover each other when Katie returns to her small hometown in Idaho. She is strong willed and determined to make her own way in the world. Ben, on the other hand, wishes for a solid family life in the town where he grew up and where he now runs the local newspaper. Even though Ben has formed a serious attachment to another woman who seems to be everything he hopes for in life, when Katie returns Ben must face the reality that his life will never be the same. He wants Katie. Katie does not want to commit to the kind of life Ben wants. It is a real struggle for both of them to find their way to a life together. Katie does not want to be "caught" and when she realizes she is in love with Ben, she runs from him and from her deep emotions. Finally, Ben realizes that the struggle is too much for him and he distances himself from the love of his life. He has tried so hard to "catch" Katie, but she continues to resist and slip away from Ben. Will he ever truly "catch" her? If he does, can he hold her affection and change her expectations of life? Can Katie allow herself to fall in love and quite possibly turn away from everything that she believed was important in life? You will find out when you read this entertaining novel. I'm glad I did, as I enjoyed the book very much. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
