To be honest, I read this because I thought Joe R. Lansdale had a hand in it. Turns out, he just wrote the introduction. Shame.

Well, this basically follows the formula of almost all Batman vs. one of his famous enemy plots. Two-Face is in Arkham at the beginning, breaks out (again!), and Batman has to put him back in.

Its one of the best Harvey "Two-Face" Dent. Along with the Long Halloween this shows why Two-Face is such a great Batman villain. ( )

I found a Batman Trade Paperback that surprised me a little. In some way, that just makes me happy. I can't totally agree with the person who wrote the Introduction to this TPB, Matt Wagner isn't an all knowing and all powerful writer who had me seeing all sorts of under layers and stuff. But, he's a pretty good author, and the art wasn't too too out there, though I thought he did some of the evil characters much, much better than he seemed to do Bruce/Batman. ( )

A pretty interesting Batman story that had Batman rely more on his detective skills, rather then just beating down mobsters, which was refreshing. Even though the villain (Two-Face) is a an old one he seemed fresh in this book and his unique world view was explored more in here then any other story i've seen him in before. However, overall, it was just another comic. Quick and to the point. It was a good read but it hardly lived up to the grandoise claims in the introduction that claimed this book challenged our conception of freaks and whether society is over-obsessed with beauty. ( )

An excellent "Batman" graphic novel that brings a fresh angle to Two-Face, who is probably Batman's most tragic opponent. Fine art and story by Wagner; it's always exciting to see a new talent capable of superlative art and writing. ( )
