Il libro propone 50 idee di matematica con un’impostazione estremamente semplice che rende accessibile la lettura. Si vede l’accuratezza della veste editoriale e l’attenzione al prodotto. Ogni tema è rigorosamente affrontato in quattro pagine: quelle che servono per spiegare senza complicare le cose. Alcuni temi, il teorema di Pitagora, il calcolo differenziale, l’algebra, le funzioni sono di dominio comune. Altri, il valore del pi greco, dell’e, le matrici, i triangoli, sono materia nota per chi, anche se solo in via marginale, comunque ha incrociato la matematica. Infine, alcune tracce sono solo per gli addetti ai lavori. Ciò non toglie che anche quando non si comprende tutto, si capisce molto. E che il grande mistero dei numeri e delle forme appare meno oscuro e sollecita il prurito della curiosità per provare a capire qualcosa in più. Comunque una bella lettura. Es hält auf jeweils knappen vier Seiten Entdecker und Idee fest und gibt Beispiele für Probleme und Anwendungen, die damit gelöst werden können. Diese Erklärungen fallen leider an einigen Stellen zu knapp aus und der interessierte Laie könnte darüber leicht stolpern.
