Primarily a picture book, The Last Days of Mash details some of the thoughts, feelings, and events surrounding the last week or so of filming the TV series. Arlene Alda's pictures are merely okay and her handwritten notes are just plain hard to read. Alan Alda gives some interesting commentary, but it's not as thorough as I had hoped for.

One of the most interesting parts of the book ended up being a section with political cartoons published in newspapers when the last show aired, along with letters from fans and newspaper stories about the show's ending. These parts ended up being rather emotionally tugging.

For a MASH fan, this is a nice little read about the show, but it only gives the briefest of insights into the show. ( )

This is a wonderful book about the last show made which got the highest ratings for a finale at that time. Lots of behind the scenes pictues, production notes, letters, telegrams from presidents, etc. Now I've got to see that finale again. ( )
