The three stories here are top-notch, marred only by the switchover from Jim Holdaway to the less appropriate Romero in the middle of the second. "Take Over" is a clever story of an attempt by the Mafia to take over the English mobs. "The Warlords of Phoenix", about attempted world-domination by a group of Japanese fanatics, is fascinating for the stretching of Modesty and Willie's combat abilities. "Willie the Djinn" qualifies as one of the most humorous of the stories, still with the threat of death at every turn. A finely balanced story. ( )
