The Slide and Find series introduced me to yet another innovation in the board book format - integrating a nonfiction text with slide panels that reveal answers. I find it clever and entertaining. This book is all about trucks. To provide an idea of how the book works, the following is an example of the first two-page layout. The spread quizzes children on colors. One side has photographs of four differently colored trucks, and the other page is divided into four rectangles. Each rectangle has a slide with the name of the color on it. Young readers can choose the color square that matches the color of the truck they have chosen, slide back the door, and see if the picture behind the slide matches the picture on the other side. Other pages follow a similar pattern. While the idea is simple, it is captivating for little readers. Also, the photographs are crisp and attractive. The down side to this board book is that the text is minimal, and is purely in a question and answer format. With a bit more ingenuity, an author could use this format and also present a fun narrative, and that union would be an exciting book for me to see. ( ) Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
