Confessions of an Organized Housewife is an excellent book that discusses how to set up, organize and maintain a household. Although slightly dated (suggestions for a home office include having a typewriter), this can be easily overlooked when it comes to setting up and maintaining a well-run home. Topics discussed including scheduling, planning, meal prep and planning, spending less money by shopping less (and how to shop with coupons etc for max. savings), organizing rooms including family room, children's rooms, a home office and kitchen. There is also a whole section devoted to paper and includes how to organize everything-from your vital documents to your hobbies-in easy to find places with a simple index card system. Also includes helpful recipes, advice on laundry etc. I love my copy-a great addition to any homemaking library! Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

It has lots of good suggestions. I found that the systems I use are very similar or are adaptations of these, made to work for our home and lifestyle, so I really didn't glean anything new.
If you are lacking in household organization, this book could be quite helpful.
Having been published in 1982, this book's suggestions are, at times, dated. It would be easy to see where today's technology could change a suggestion a bit though, if you read it.
A book that I read in the past, that affected my homemaking, is Marla Cilley's Sink Reflections. I read it in 2002. ( )
