No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. This is a wonderful story of a young girl who learns you don't always get what you want but that you can make do with what you do get if you're resourceful. Whimsical and charming. This is the sort of children's book that even though there is a lesson running through it, the lesson is buried so deeply within the enchanting story that you don't feel knocked over the head with it. Both boys and girls will love this story and what's more will want a savvy of their own. I know I do. ( ![]() Just started and it seems intriguing enough. It was a good read. I think it was a sweet early love story between Mibs and the preacher's son (LOVE those guys). And then basically trying to figuring out who you are and what it all means in life. For the Beaumonts this discovery happens very specifically on their 13th birthday, which is kind of nice. I mean, I've been trying to figure myself out for years and I am definitely older than 13! Would be fine for 4th grade through young high school ages. No cussing or inappropriate scenes. I passed it to my 9 year old to read when he's ready. A fun little book by Ingrid Law. I enjoyed every minute–from meeting Mibs Beaumont and her unusual family, through the crisis that befalls them, through the swashbuckling adventure Mibs undertakes to try and solve the problem, all the way to the semi-sweet (my favorite kind) finish. This–right here–is why I love young adult literature. It’s so nice that my kids bring home plenteous quantities of it. Mississippi (Mibs) Beaumont's 13th birthday is supposed to be an awakening of her special powers (savvy), but her father's terrible car accident leaves her without her parents for this trauma. She decides to try to help her father out of his coma, and stows away aboard a bus delivering Bibles. Joined by two of her brothers and two kids from another family, she discovers her savvy is not what she originally thought. Suitable for middle school age. This children's literature book is about a young girl's journey of growing in maturity, confidence and her savvy. Every time someone in the Beaumont family turns thirteen, they get a special ability, called a savvy. The book follows a young girl who just turns thirteen. While on a mission to get to her father in the hospital, she receives her savvy and learns how to control it. I would have my students read this book in the classroom in order to support and encourage them in their journey of growing up. Pertany a aquestes sèriesBeaumont Family (1) PremisDistinctions
