I need another copy. Loaned to a student last year and she couldn't bear to give it up. I let her keep it. I had picked it up with girls like her in mind.
I think that maybe knowing other girls out there share so much in common may help relieve the depression and suicidal tendencies some of our girls have. It's just about girls, Pregnant, gay, gangster,surfers, preppies, homeless, suicidal, cutters, you name it.
All grouped together in sections. It led one of my girls from her own problems onto the sections with other girls experiences and to understanding/dealing with her gang related racism and homophobia.
I'm just an aide so I don't have enough money to buy all our girls this book. I wish I could get the teachers to care, but they are not about to turn loose of their expense money for the kids. ( )

My mom got this book for me when I was probably 14 or 15. I haven't read it in ten years, but I remember really loving it. This might have been some of my first introduction to riot grrls, which was basically over by the time I heard about it. ( )

I read this book as a middle schooler, and it changed my life! ( )
