Sparks' books are very predictable. I liked the characters Sarah, Miles and Jonah and even Brian. It was still a good summer read. (  ) LilQuebe | Jun 8, 2020 | I can't remember why I thought Nicholas Sparks was a good writer...perhpas it is just the idea that somenone named Sparks had to have some great energy. This was just a romance, with a few twists, as they all do, trying to be unique. I couldn't identify with the characters. Southern deputy sheriff loses his wife in a hit-and-run accident. Grieving, he goes thru the daily routine of caring for their son, Jonah. Jonah's 2nd grade teacher realizes he's academically behind & offers to spend extra time after school with him, meanwhile the deputy & she get to know each other.
