![]() No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. This is the last book in the series. I enjoyed the ride, and am sad to see it go. I think maybe this was my favorite book, and am glad that it had such a happy ending. Wonderful series. I like the series but the middle of the book was somewhat drawn out I first read this series when it was first published and really liked them. This audiobook was well done and I enjoyed revisiting the story. FROM AMAZON: It's been several months since Lina and Doon escaped the dying city of Ember and, along with the rest of their people, joined the town of Sparks. Now, struggling through the harsh winter aboveground, they find an unusual book. Torn up and missing most of its pages, it alludes to a mysterious device from before the Disaster, which they believe is still in Ember. Together, Lina and Doon must go back underground to retrieve what was lost and bring light to a dark world. In the fourth Book of Ember, bestselling author Jeanne DuPrau juxtaposes yet another action-packed adventure with powerful themes about hope, learning, and the search for truth. One of the few endings to a series that doesn't leave me with more questions than answers. I find myself able to conclude my reading satisfied knowing the future of the characters within. After liking the first book and being a little disappointed with the second, I enjoyed this one, which I felt brought back the adventure and intrigue of the first book. It helped me to realize that one of the things missing from the 2nd book is Lina and Doon working together, rather than both having their own quests. I also liked the return to Ember, even though much had changed, and how things played out there. The secret of the diamond was really underwhelming at first, but as I came to understand it better, I appreciated it more.
The ending was a little strange to me, partly because it leaps forward and then backward at least once, and I had to reread some spots to make sure I wasn't confused. And the reference to the third book in the series, which I skipped in favor of the next book in sequence (the third book is a prequel) was weird and made me less inclined to even read the third one (though I still will). However, the ending only detracted a little, hence the half point down from 5 in my rating. Overall, it was a satisfying conclusion to a series that I'm glad I read. (
