2.200 pàgines després he arribat al final de la primera trilogia de Nacidos de la Bruma (Mistborn) i el resultat em crea alguns sentiments contraposats.
L'argument d'aquest tercer llibre gira al voltant de com Vin, Elend i la resta de supervivents de la banda de'n Kelsier han d'evitar la fi del món provocada per no se sap ben bé què. Pot tenir a veure amb el poder contingut en el Pou de l'Ascensió i que la Vin va alliberar?
Un cop més, el llibre és molt llarg, massa llarg i trossos com les reflexions de'n Sazed a la cerca d'una religió útil, o els preparatius de'n Fantamsa a Urteau; es podrien estalviar perfectament. S'inverteix moltes pàgines en un tema que només serveix per a justificar el paper que té al final del llibre. Una cosa semblant al segon llibre on la Vin es passa tota l'estona dubtant de si ha d'estar amb l'Elend, només per al final entendre que l'ha de deixar morir. És un únic aspecte negatiu, però té un efecte negatiu important i alguns personatges se'n ressenteixen.
En l'aspecte positiu, tota la resta: una història molt ben tramada al llarg dels tres volums, amb aspectes del primer o el segon que prenen sentit en el tercer. Parlem d'una trilogia planejada i executada amb molta previsió.
La construcció de món és molt imaginativa i plena de detalls molt ben lligats i coherents amb la història (kandres, inquisidors, hemalurgia, etc); fins al punt de poder-nos perdre.
L'estil és senzill i pràctic, al servei de la història; tot i que en aquest tercer llibre no m'ha semblant tant pla com en els altres.
La construcció de personatges, encara no tinc gaire clar perquè, ja que com he dit l'estil és força pla i a vegades es ressenteixen d'aquests trucs de l'escriptor; és bona, molt bona. Potser ha estat el fet de llegir els tres llibres de cop, però al final els coneixes com si fossin de la familia.
I per acabar, s'ha de valorar l'habilitat de Sanderson per a tramar grans escenes de lluita i acció. ( )
Tercera part de la primera trilogia de Nascuts en la bruma. Un bon tancament per aquesta història èpica. Molt més reflexiva sobre els límits del poder i la fe. ( )
Sanderson's conclusion to the epic that began with Mistborn and continued in Well of Ascension resonates with all the elements of classic heroic fantasy, along with unusual forms of magic and strong, believable characters.

Sanderson pulls loose ends together, explains vague prophecies, and produces the Hero of Ages, and the Mistborn trilogy concludes satisfactorily.
