I've only just got this dictionary, and I haven't been learning Italian for very long, so I'm not brilliantly qualified to write a review. However, my first impressions are generally positive. It is clearly laid out, with quite a lot of examples and other aids to help you use words correctly, and it seems to have a reasonably large vocabulary. The one big flaw that I've found so far is that there is no indication where the stress comes in Italian words except where it's on a final syllable and shown with a grave accent. Although most words are stressed on the penultimate syllable, there are enough with stress in other positions (not shown in the standard orthography) that it would be very helpful - especially in a dictionary purporting to be for beginners - to indicate where the stress should fall (at least for words having non-penultimate stress).
