This was the worst one to me since it felt more like a list of things happening than a plot, and being the final book, I would have expected more of an ending for characters like Annabelle, whom we haven't seen in multiple books. By far the worst was Ben the apprentice, knee-jerk screaming he was going to kill a guest at the Merriman house. Overall, I'm disappointed in the series. While I realize it is for children, the Dear America series managed to do a lot better at creating engaging and educational historic storylines. Hopefully another American Girl series can redeem these Felicity books, but I'm afraid they may all be too simple, always papering over "controversial" topics. I don't even think anything was explained well enough for it to be educational. It's too bad, because the Felicity books are ones I thought I would like more due to its setting in Williamsburg during the American Revolution. Summary: This is the last book in the series, and emphasizes changes for Felicity which she finally starts to accept. After her father is arrested for being a loyalist, Felicity is determined to keep herself together, even as further tragedy strikes her family. Felicity will need a reminder along the way that friendship can get her through even the hardest day. Personal Reaction: This is a very sad conclusion to the Felicity series of books. I think the impending war with England would have been a great area to venture into for the author. Classroom extensions: I think it would be a great idea for students to discuss both sides of the war. I think it would be great for students to take a phrase out of the book and explain what it means to them. This book is a double of a classroom library book. So many changes are happening to Felicity: Elizabeth’s father is arrested for being a loyalist, Grandfather dies, and Penny has a foal. Felicity decides she does not like the changes at first, but she learns to deal with them. The biggest change is that Jiggy Nye becomes her friend and helps save Penny after she and her grandfather have helped him. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
