I'm a big fan of bats so of course, I picked up the book based on the cover alone. The book is very sweet and talks about how friendship is awesome, and how you don't have to be exactly the same to be friends - it's our differences that makes us special. Yeah, I'm a sap - what of it? :) As a read aloud but always felt it was a bit long. Had the matching Beanie Baby also. Had Verdi also and we liked it, but Stellaluna more so. This book is a really cute book for young readers. The story is based on a young bat, Stellaluna, separated from her mother and gets adopted by a family of birds. Throughout the book students can see the similarities and differences between birds and fruit bats. In addition, this book teaches students that some traits can be learned while other traits are genetic. This book follows a young bat to adapt to a new life with a bird family. Once she finds her bat family she continues to remain friends with her bird family and she sees that their differences are okay and they can continue to remain friends. This book is great to show kids that just because your culture is different from other kids, doesn't mean that theirs is wrong and yours is right. Just because how someone acts/eats/looks is different than you doesn't mean that that's not how they are supposed to act/eat/look. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
