A woman writer in 1906 putting together a very compelling western with fully formed main characters, great atmosphere, humor and a little romance on the side was not what I expected. Add to that the fact that the author used the proceeds from this book to leave her abusive first husband and I love it even more! ( ) A slightly sappy, but sweet western romance revolving around the antics of a group of cowboys after the boss's niece, the "Little Doctor" comes to stay at the Flying U ranch. Homey and humorous episodes involve a variously, a coyote and some luggage, an accidental pill overdose at a party which necessitates several stomach pumping, a cactus patch, a runaway horse, and an injured cowboy culminate in a happy ending for most all concerned. It's a cozy read for a winter afternoon when the wind is whistling round the windows, and the snow is flying past them. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

HTML: Prolific writer Bertha Muzzy Bower wasn't stymied by gender-based notions of propriety -- this trailblazing female author penned a critically acclaimed series of novels about life on the Western ranch. Several of her narratives centered on a ranch called The Flying U, and this entry in the series, which offers plenty of action and romance, will appeal to a wide range of readers. .No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
