This book is about a young girl who has a loose tooth, she is also trying to make money to get her dad a gift for his birthday. Her brother suggest to her to let him pull it out, her mom said to eat on apples or candy corn, and her dad said to tie her tooth to the door. she was too afraid to do any of those so she went to sleep wondering what she can get him, she walks around sad all day until her mom reminds her that she can make him a card. This book show kids that even though is cool to loose teeth don't pull them out for money. ( ) this is a lovely book and moreso because it uses spanish as well as English. This will be helpful for children in learning spanish as it also contains a glossary of the spanish words in the first page iof the book. There is also rhyming present making it more fun to read, whilst teaching words that rhyme to children, " I wiggled and pokedit. But it wasnt ready. I'll yank it but my brother said try holding steady!" The life like illustrations are also exciting and will keep the children engaged whilst complementing the text. I really liked how this book was written in English but contained Spanish vocabulary. There was even a vocabulary page at the beginning of the book with the English translations. This book can either be for young ELLs who are transitioning to English or for children learning Spanish as a second language. The story was very relatable to any child, despite language barriers because all children go through losing teeth or trying to find presents for their parents.
