Plot: Unhei moves from Korea to America. Anxious that no one will be able to pronounce her name. Her classmates add different names and place them in a jar. Unhei likes some of the names but decides she likes her name best.

Curricular Connections: (with Teks) I would include this book in our social studies lesson on culture, community and family. It is a great book to start off Asian Heritage Month (in May)

This is such a sweet book for young readers, I truly recommend this read because I think it was a book that allows the main character time for self evaluation that led to her realizing her name was just as important as the person next to her. That her name was specifically chosen for her for a reason and changing that would only give power to the people who don't appreciate it as much as they should. ( )

This is about a girl who comes to America and she has a difficult name to pronounce. She wants to change it because it does not seem like it is worth it to have a difficult name. But she realizes how important her name is to her and how much it means to her. This is a great book for intermediate elementary school. ( )
